The Beginning

Going out for a quick bite to eat could cost you your health. Do I not have your attention yet?

Watch this video..   Carb Loaded!!

This is a HUGE inspiration for my blog. Six months ago, I made the decision to make a lifestyle change. What exactly do I mean by a Lifestyle Change? Simply put, I am making a conscious effort to change my habits. I have been dieting for years with no sucess of keeping the weight off. I felt good for a short period of time, followed by me eating as much as I can because I was restricting myself SO much. The only way a diet is successful is if you're always on it! So, last year I decided that enough was enough! Having my weight fluctuate for years, it took a toll on my body. I have to do something  to feel better. I started out slowly knowing this was going to be hard for me. I slowed down the amount of soda I was drinking and replaced it with water. After that became easier for me to handle, my next step was stop eating fast food. This one was a lot more difficult for me, only because when I am tired I don't want to have to cook anything! I have found things that are great for me that take NO time at all. Having "time" is only an excuse now! Since my lifestyle change I have lost 45lbs. This journey is just the beginning but there is a lot more to be learned. Doing things at YOUR speed will work for YOU.

The reason I am calling this blog 1 Hour A Day, is because it's important to take care of YOU.  As a part of my lifestyle change, I knew I had to do things that take care of ME. So, I dedicated 1 hour a day to improve myself in SOME way! Whether it be working out, going to the spa, or just spending time alone. Most might find it difficult to find a full hour in a day to dedicate to yourself, but if you don't take care of you, no one else will! This hour a day, for me, has made it possible for me to take walks, think positively about my journey and the path I want to take, and to slowly build my stamina.

My next goal will be taking out all processed foods. This one for me has been really difficult. Like to video, todays society is WAY too used to all these easy meals. It's time to change that!
